There are different types of crown available:
Porcelain bonded to metal crown (Tooth Coloured crown)
This is an extremely strong crown which has the combination of strength from the underlying metal and aesthetics that porcelain can provide.
All ceramic (Porcelain tooth coloured crown)
This is the most aesthetic crown available as it has no metal base. In highly visible aesthetic areas an all ceramic crown would be the material of choice as a superior more natural appearance can be achieved.
Metal Alloy (Non precious metal, Gold)
These are the strongest of all the crowns but don’t give the natural aesthetics that porcelain crowns do.
Your dentist will be able to discuss your options for the type of crown that would be most suited for the tooth. The crown can then be matched in size and shape to sit comfortably alongside existing teeth.
At Cox and Hitchcock, we have invested in state of the art technology and can offer crowns without the need for messy impressions using our 3SHAPE TRIOS INTRA ORAL SCANNER. This scanner allows us to create digital and accurate scans of your mouth which can be sent directly to the lab

"Fantastic dental surgery. Everyone was professional and helpful. I had a dental implant and was initially very nervous about the procedure. My dentist, Vinnie, was just brilliant: incredibly competent, caring and really enthusiastic about his job - you can tell he loves being a dentist! I had my final appointment today and my new tooth looks amazing. I couldn't be happier with the service I received here."
